Key Geoseismic Sections

This section presents nine geoseismic panels consisting of a selection of high-resolution and multichannel seismic-reflection data and line drawings. These panels have been constructed to best illustrate the stratigraphic framework in a regional context, as well as providing information on tectonic and sedimentary processes. Each Work Package (WP) was allocated three panels to present their data, either as single lines or as montages, as well as an introductory page. Each geoseismic section included on the panels is accompanied by some brief explanatory text. The location map for each WP area shows the position of the sections presented in the panels, as well as the location of other regional sections featured in Fig. 8, Fig. 9, and Fig. 10. The latter were chosen to depict the key reflectors in the Unified Stratigraphic Framework section. Together, Fig. 8, Fig. 9 and Fig. 10 and geoseismic panel 1, panel 2, panel 3, panel 4, panel 5, panel 6, panel 7, panel 8 and panel 9 provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of the seismic-sequence stratigraphy of the Neogene succession along the Atlantic margin of NW Europe.
